Great Commission Discipleship is the primary focus of RDIM.

Here are some key recommendations to help YOU (and those within your circle of influence if you choose to share these principles with them) become a committed disciple of Jesus and apply the Great Commission mandates to your life.

Daily Prayer

  • Start each day with gratitude and thanksgiving to God – prayer and worship.
  • Put on the Armor of God every morning.
  • Pray in the spirit and with understanding for people, activities, and situations, as led by the Spirit.
  • Pray daily for and with your spouse and children (not just at mealtime).
  • Pray for your extended family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and any prayer requests.
  • Pray for your pastoral leadership team and your church.
  • Pray for outreach and strategic missions.
  • Pray for an Unreached People Group.  – use the Prayer Menu: Unreached of the Day and Prayer Resources.

Daily Bible Reading, Meditation, and Devotions

  • Read Bible in a Year or any other Bible reading of your choosing.  Here are two suggestions to get you started:
  • One Year® Bible Reading Plan – consists of passages from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. This arrangement of Scripture brings variety and a fresh approach to each day’s reading, while providing a clear understanding of the Bible’s larger message. Link.
  • Bible Gateway Reading through the Bible is a rewarding experience, and these plans can help you do it!  For the best experience, create an account or log in and subscribe to the reading plan of your choice. Then you can track your progress, receive daily reading reminder emails, and print monthly lists of readings for offline use. You can start, pause, or end a reading plan at any time – at your own pace.  So, choose a reading plan and get ready for the incredible journey of reading through the Bible, one day at a time!
  • Use effective Daily Devotionals – read/share them with your family or others.
  • Bible Gateway DevotionalsMany choices:  Classic Devotionals; Devotionals for Women, Men, Families, or Leaders: Inspirational Devotionals; Devotionals That Explore Faith or the Bible; and Audio Devotionals.
  • There are countless other devotionals on church/ministry websites.
  • Intentionally seek and watch Bible-based teachings from other sources – we have recommended many topical teaching series and messages on this website.
Activate a Great Commission Mindset in Your Personal Life and within Your Congregation
  • Intentionally become a committed and faithful disciple of Jesus.
  • Join and actively participate with a Small Group (either within your church structure or outside with other Believers).
  • Become a disciple-maker through Small Groups.
  • Seek how you can discover, develop, and deploy your specific spiritual gifts and talents to contribute and make a difference in your local congregation.
  • Share the good news of Jesus with those in your circle of influence, then within your local community outreach activities, and then to the nations.
